Core Method Books

The core piano methods I use are Faber piano adventures, Bastien, Alfred, and selections from others. I also utilized standalone books like John Thompson’s Modern Course. But method book only make up a certain portion of the materials implemented. There are differences in student skills and progressions speeds, so as such I utilize many custom items to supplement each students learning.

Student Benefits

Each student receives many benefits. Outside of the standard physical materials that they attain for lessons, they also receive a personal account page on the website where they will have access to the following:

  • Digital transcript of lesson notes

  • PDF/images of lesson materials

  • Personal video practice guides for their primary pieces/songs

  • A personal outline and achievement goals with rewards for attaining certain goals

  • Access to an ever growing database of theory and technique info pages and video explanations

Besides the above benefits, students will also receive personally composed theory/technique compositions personally catered to their specific needs. As well as the use of custom assignments using mobile learning apps that they can use to compliment the rest of their learning.

Cost of Lesson Materials

The price of material varies, but an average cost of basic required materials is less than $50 yearly. (highly dependent on students speed of learning)

For the first lesson, nothing is required of the student unless the student has previous pieces they want to bring. Otherwise, I provide all material for the student’s first lesson. Discussion of what they need to purchase will also take place during the first few lesson.
